“REPLACEMENT OVER REPAIRMENT”
"A pair of Shoes, worn and torn, can tell a story of its own. Some might choose to discard them, deeming them beyond repair. But others might see the value in fixing them, in breathing new life into the worn-out soles and frayed laces. It's a choice that reflects not just our attitude towards material possessions, but also towards relationships and behaviors.
We all have our own perspectives, our own ways of dealing with the brokenness that life throws our way. Some might opt for the easy route, replacing what's broken with something new, shiny, and seemingly perfect. But others might choose the harder path, the one that requires patience, effort, and dedication – the path of repairment.
Repairing something that's broken isn't always easy. It takes time, energy, and a willingness to get your hands dirty. But it's worth it. When we repair something, we're not just fixing it; we're preserving the memories, the emotions, and the value that it holds. We're saying that it's worth saving, worth keeping, and worth loving.
In a world that often prioritizes convenience and disposability, choosing repairment over replacement can be a radical act. It's a statement that says, "I value what I have, and I'm willing to work to keep it." It's a reminder that everything broken isn't useless; it just needs care.
When it's your favorite thing, you repair it every damn time. You take the time to mend the tears, to reattach the loose parts, and to restore it to its former glory. You do it because it's worth it, because it's a part of you, and because it holds a special place in your heart.
Repairment is not just about fixing things; it's about preserving relationships, behaviors, and values. It's about recognizing that everything has a story, a history, and a worth that goes beyond its functional value.
So, do we choose repairment or replacement? Do we take the time to fix what's broken, or do we opt for the easy route and discard it? The choice is ours. And it's a choice that reflects not just our attitude towards material possessions, but also towards ourselves, others, and the world around us.
As I reflect on this choice, I'm reminded that repairment is noble, but some scars speak louder than hope, reminding us that it will break again. Yet, I'd rather choose to repair, to fix, and to preserve, for it's in the act of repairment that we find true value and attachment.

DeleteMany people may have different perspectives! Here is what my brains thinks.
ReplyDeleteIf I were given option to choose to repair or discard, I'll definitely repair but their will be conditions, it should benefit me >> loss.
Because not every shoes should be repaired, some shoes are meant for teaching lessons, not matter how many times it is repaired, it will torn again and again in crucial times, even if it's repaired, cost will too much leading heavy expenses and person will be in full of debts, unable to pay debts in entire life.
Every shoes can't bear the loads & some shoes even bite the person & leave scars and painful memories that will hinder peace in life, from time to time it will re-surface every next steps taken.
I have a question?
— A person gifts ship to his friend, many years passed, ships glory remains the same , people take them as examples about their great friendship. His friend took great care of ship. As time pass both friends die. But ship's glory remains same, ships was passed down to next generations. A day comes were every part of the ship is replaced by new part that were originally present at the time when it was gifted.
Now is it the same ship that was presented as gift or is it new ship?
Yesss I completely agree with you, as I too have the same perspective, I'll tryy to fix but if it noo longer serves me or hurt me, I'll replace it with a new ones! ;) thanks for sharing ur piece of perspective:)
